This is a review about my cross country.

The Email We Got from Nathan ( entomologistt )

We got this information from Nathan Hill and he is an entomologist. Here is some feedback from him. We changed the changes he suggested us.

Hi Anna, Taryn,Abbie and Aria
Nice one I had a look at the link.  The songs are very catchy and the information is correct.  It does show pictures of caterpillars after a section on centipedes. Caterpillars actually only have 6 true legs (they are the larvae of insects) the rest of the leg like structures  - proto legs – are not true legs so caterpillars they are still grouped as insects even through it looks like they have more than 10.   I’m not sure what else you want me to provide feedback on.  This is a chart I refer to sometimes which shows how invertebrates fit in the classification table. It has a lot of other entomology jargon that 7-8 year olds do not need to know. For example echinoderms can simply be called the starfish group. I hope that helps. Keep up the great work. Where I'm up to with WIT e For our WIT we have gotten very far now we are emailing Mrs Parks and Mrs Mills to interview 2 students and to see if they like our ideas. And here is the email. Dear Mrs Parks and Mrs Mills We are making a scratch quiz for our WIT and the target age is Year 3 and 4. Our WIT is to study invertebrates and make a resource to help year 3 and 4 identify invertebrates from the frankley school bush. We would like to talk to 2 people in your class to ask these questions and see what they think and to give us some ideas about a helpful resource. What would be a suitable time and day to talk to 2 of the Te Pihinga students. Questions Do You use technology like computers or laptops much in your class? Would a website or something similar be useful to your class? If not what would you recommend us to use? If so Why do you think we should change? Do you know much about invertebrates ( bugs without a backbone)? Does your class struggle identify bugs or invertebrates ( bugs without a backbone)? Has your class looked into invertebrates yet? My WIT In my class (Tūhono) we have a WIT. What is WIT? WIT is a wildly important task. In my classroom our WIT is All about invertebrates. We find a insect invertebrate but it has to come out of the Frankley School bush. My group is with Jorjia and Taryn. We have found a centipede. We are going to show Frankley School students the physical features and adaptations. My class goes out to the Frankley School bush and sets all kind of traps that is suitable for invertebrate insects. I'm enjoying my WIT a lot.

Relay For Life Performance

Swimming At Highlands

30-3-17 


On  Thursday all the year 5-6s went to highlands for Swimming celebration. What is swimming celebration you ask? It is something for 5-6s and we show off some of our swimming skills. A teacher will tell the crowd what some of us are going to do and then the teacher near you will say go. Now you go across  the swimming pool.  I participated in 7 event my favourite was relay. In my relay team was Jak, Taryn and Haka. They were very fast. But guess what we won the relay race. I love swimming so much.
